A little bit about us
Whether you’re interested in “Classic Rock” routes in the Lake District, Scottish Winter Climbing or soaking up some sun whilst doing the odd route or two somewhere hot, Nick and Sarah will be happy to talk through your ideas and offer their own experience and enthusiasm to help your plans take shape:
Sarah has been working in the outdoors for more than 10 years and is a fully qualified Mountain Instructor (MIC) and BASI Ski Leader.
She has climbed a few big hills in South America and the Himalayas including Ama Dablam and has done a bit of new routing including some first ascents in Bolivia.
Sarah particularly loves warm, dry climates, good coffee and the odd glass or two of Rioja! ... She has therefore enjoyed living and working as an instructor in the mountains of both Chile and Spain and has extensive knowledge of Costa Blancan rock climbing.
In addition she has climbed throughout the UK and Europe including the French Alps, Corsica and Sardinia.
These days Sarah is an enthusiastic member of the “no pain, no gain school of winter climbing” and is keen to “get out there and suffer” at the earliest opportunity!
Nick is a qualified Mountain Guide and is a member of the International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations (IFMGA).
He has been climbing big hills for over 25 years and his experience includes successful ascents of Everest, Shishapangma and Cho Oyo.
Consequentially he’s got an excellent repertoire of “when I was snowed in at ABC” stories and other tales from big snowy mountains!
Nick fell in love with the Alps on his first visit way back in 1976 and they continue to hold a very special attraction for him.
Nowadays he continues to enjoy Alpinism in all its forms and can also even be persuaded to try a bit of sun-baked rock!
Currently Nick is the Lakes representative of the BMG training committee.
